Cookie policy

Last updated:

The short version: this website sets no cookies at all. Nothing is stored on your device, nothing is shared with advertisers, and no third party receives your data. There is nothing to opt into and nothing to refuse.

1. This website (thevisionqc.com)

We do not use cookies, local storage or tracking pixels, and we do not embed third-party fonts, maps or video players — so no other company receives your IP address when you read these pages. The typeface used here is served from our own server for exactly that reason.

2. How we count visitors without cookies

We do keep our own basic statistics — how many people visit, which pages they read, and which site referred them — because we need to know whether anyone is finding us. It is measured on our own server, and no analytics company is involved.

To count a visitor without storing anything on your device, we take a one-way hash of your IP address and browser together with a secret that changes every day. That lets us see that two page views in one day came from the same person, and deliberately prevents us from recognising you tomorrow or working back to your IP address. The address itself is never written down.

We record: the page path, the referring website's domain (never the full link, which can carry search terms), and a coarse device type — desktop, tablet or mobile. Because none of this requires storage on your device and none of it identifies you, no consent banner is needed.

3. The application (admin.thevisionqc.com)

Our customers' workspace is a separate application, and it does set one cookie:

NamePurposeDurationType
visionqc_session Keeps you signed in after you log in. It contains a random identifier only — no personal data — and cannot be read by page scripts. 12 hours Strictly necessary

This cookie is strictly necessary: without it you could not stay signed in. Under the ePrivacy Directive strictly necessary cookies do not require consent, which is why you are not asked to accept anything.

4. The enquiry form

When you send an enquiry we store the name, email address, company and message you provide, so that we can reply. We also store a one-way hash of your IP address to limit automated abuse of the form — the address itself is not kept and cannot be recovered from the hash.

We use these details only to answer your enquiry. We do not sell them, and we do not add you to a marketing list without asking.

5. Your rights

Under the GDPR you may ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask us to delete it. Write to thevisionqc@bckspce.com and we will respond.

6. Changes

If we ever add a third-party analytics service or any non-essential cookie, we will update this page and ask for your consent before setting it.
